Project Director:
Phil Coogan
- Dr Phil Coogan is director of Arts Online. He has been a secondary teacher, teacher educator, Associate of the London Institute of Education and director of Unitec in Schools. He is currently Consultancy Operations Manager for Cognition Education.
Project Leader:
Maria Lute
- Maria's background is in primary education and she is currently an education consultant with Cognition Education Ltd. She manages the English, ESOL and Literacy Online websites and has extensive experience in the areas of online communities of practice and facilitation in a range of online environments. She is also a credentialed Project Manager and is active in a variety of other initiatives within the education sector.
Community Facilitators:
Nick Brown
- Nick is a Drama teacher who hails from London, England, where he taught at The BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology, and London University. Nick trained at London University (BA Hons in Drama & Theatre Arts), Guildford School of Acting (Post-Grad Diploma in Acting), The Central School of Speech & Drama (P.G.C.E.), and Manchester University (MA in Theatre & Performance Studies). He has recently begun his PhD at the University of Canterbury in Drama Education.
Sam Cunnane
- Sam Cunnane is the Community Facilitator for Visartsnet. He teaches Visual Arts at Hamilton's Fraser High School and is director of education consultancy Idea Workshop. He is involved on a national level with assessment and resource development matters, including being a member of the Curriculum Alignment Panel for the Visual Arts. Sam is co-author of visual arts textbook 'Saying What You See', published in 2009.
Shane Morrow
- Shane Morrow is the Community Facilitator for Musicnet. He has taught Music and Drama in secondary schools in Auckland and Christchurch and is Head of Arts at Riccarton High School. Shane has been on review panels for NCEA Music Achievement Standards, is a former Chairman of the Canterbury Westland Secondary Music Teachers Association, and was on the organising committee for the Music ’09 Modulations conference.
Patrice O'Brien
- Patrice O'Brien is the Community Facilitator for Dancenet. She is also the secondary dance facilitator at TEAM Solutions for Auckland and Northland, and teaches the pre-service secondary dance students at the Faculty of Education, University of Auckland. Patrice was a National Facilitator for Dance and has taught both dance and drama to all levels at secondary school.
Sally Waanders
- Sally Waanders is the Community Facilitator for Arthistorynet. She is currently HOD of Art at Rosehill College teaching Art History and Visual Arts at both junior and senior secondary levels. Sally is involved with assessment and resource development at a national level and has been part of the Curriculum Review Group for Art History.
